B. Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the SkyLounge Radar Android TV app or our website, we may automatically collect certain information:
- Usage Data: We collect anonymous data about how you interact with the app, such as features used, time spent, and navigation paths. This helps us improve the user experience on the TV interface.
- Device Information: We may collect basic information about your device, including the Android TV model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers to ensure app compatibility and troubleshoot issues.
- Location Information: To display flights in your area, the SkyLounge Radar app uses your device's location to calculate a bounding box of the visible map area. This bounding box is transmitted to our custom backend to fetch relevant flights. However, this location data is processed entirely in memory, is immediately discarded after the request finishes, and is never logged, stored, or persisted on our servers.
- Crash Reports: In the event the app crashes, we may collect anonymous crash logs to help us identify and fix bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the SkyLounge Radar app and website.
- To center the flight radar map on your general location.
- To send you updates and technical notices.
- To monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve the app's TV-first design.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or crashes.
3. Third-Party Services
SkyLounge Radar uses third-party services to function effectively:
- AirLabs API: We use AirLabs to provide real-time global aviation data. Our backend fetches global flight data from AirLabs and filters it locally before sending it to your device. Your device does not connect directly to AirLabs, and we do not forward your location data or any personal information to AirLabs.
- Analytics and Crash Reporting: We may use third-party tools (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics) to collect and analyze usage data and crash reports.
- Hosting Services: Our website and backend are hosted on secure third-party platforms (like Google App Engine).
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following situations:
- With Service Providers: We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., email delivery, hosting).
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
